Many of us come from a belief system or mind set that involves a “have to” attitude – I have to go to work, I have to work out, I have to save money, I have to, I have to, I have to . . . .
Truth is, aside from basic survival needs of eating, breathing, sleeping, there is nothing that we “have” to do. We make choices throughout our lives based on what the consequences are. Did you just go to “consequences” being a negative term? See, consequences are simply results of our actions and choices. Consequences aren’t positive or negative – they are just results. Some results move us forward and some results hold us back. Some results create pain and some results create pleasure. Some results create bondage and some results create freedom.
What results are your choices creating in your life? How long are you going to be a victim to what you “have to” do in your daily life? When will you step in to being responsible and begin making choices from a “get to” or “choose to” mind set rather than a “have to” mind set? Who are you giving your power to every day?
When the costs outweigh the benefits – will you move? will you make different choices?
